The SUNY Oneonta Taekwondo Club was founded in the fall of 2007 by students Mohammed, Hassan, and Hussein Baqer. The three borthers had experience in Taekwondo from Sweden, and wanted to practice and compete in the sport. Since there were no collegiate taekwondo clubs in the area, the brothers decided to develop their own team of collegiate Taekwondo competitors. The club gained recognition by the Student Association in the spring of 2008, and has been active since. Thanks to dedicated and hard working students, the club has been able to grow and stay active over the years.
