ECTC Water Test
Validate a scale for use in ECTC weigh-in's
Please check out the video and procedure to conduct the ECTC Water Test for Scales.
What do you need:

Two plastic gallon jugs of water (milk jug style) filled to the brim with water. If a purchased is not quite full, open it and add a little water

A digital scale that display in increments of 0.1
-
A hard flat floor (not on carpet) to perform the weighing
-
A person that weighs about 120lbs
-
A person that weighs about 170lbs
Procedure:

Place the two gallon jugs of water on scale. Scale must read 17.1-17.3lbs.

Repeat step 1 to check consistency.

Have the person who weights about 120lbs step on scale and note the weight
-
Repeat step 3 to check consistency.

Have this same person who weights about 120lbs hold both of the gallon jugs and step on scale and note the weight. The scale must shows their weight plus 17.1-17.3lbs.

Repeat step 5 to check consistency.

Have the person who weights about 170lbs step on scale and note the weight.
-
Repeat step 7 to check consistency.

Have this same person who weights about 170lbs hold both of the gallon jugs and step on scale and note the weight. The scale must shows their weight plus 17.1-17.3lbs.

Repeat step 9 to check consistency.
If the scale pass the water test, school can proceed to weigh-in each competitor.
