2018 All-Stars Announced

January 2, 2018

The ECTC Board and the All-Star Team Selection Committee thank all of the coaches who submitted applicants for the 2018 ECTC All-Star Team.

All of the candidates were considered very carefully by the Committee, comprised of 5 coaches from Division 1, 2 and 3 schools. The Committee and the Board agree that the candidates were outstanding and we wish everyone could be included, but ultimately we were only able to select eight sparring and two poomsae spots for the team. This was a strong group of candidates, so the committee went beyond the six sparring positions originally planned for the team. Three sparring team members were unable to go on the All-Star training trip, so three alternates were added to the team for a total of eleven sparring (eight traveling).

The votes from individual committee members were sent, in a blind fashion, to Referee Chair Jaime Schulte. Master Schulte tallied them and reported the results first to the committee and now to the league.

In alphabetical order (by last name), your ECTC 2018 All-Star Team:

Poomsae All-Star Team:

Andrew Hurd (Northeastern)

Evangeline Tsai (Boston University)

Sparring All-Star Team:

The team is traveling to Dallas, TX to train with area athletes and coaches. Eight ECTC schools are represented on the team, which may be a record and reflects well on the depth of talent found in the league! The team will seek to exchange ideas and serve as ambassadors for the ECTC as a whole.

Congratulations All-Stars!
